DEXTER (WWJ) – The Village of Dexter, which was destroyed by a tornado three weeks ago, is still trying to pick up the pieces.

Amateur photograph and Dexter resident Nicola James is trying to help by putting together a 2013 calendar.

“After seeing all the support that the community gave everybody, it really inspired me to do something – so I thought that I’d put some of my pictures together of places around Dexter into a calendar,” said James.

Profits that James receives will be donated to the Dexter Relief Fund.

“Everyone was very welcoming when we moved to Dexter. And with this disaster – everyone has just pulled together and showed just how much of a strong community this is and I haven’t been more proud to call it home,” said James.

About 200 homes were damaged and 20 destroyed by the twister on March 15. No serious injuries were reported.
