Solar Firm Sets Open House, Bus Tour

CANTON TOWNSHIP -- Mechanical Energy Systems will sponsor its Bi-Annual Open House and bus tour of solar energy installations on Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Preregistration is required by Wednesday, April 11 to get on the bus.

The tour starts at the oldest family-run solar company in Michigan, in the solar business since 1985. Participants can see and touch solar photovoltaic equipment, solar water heating, solar attic fans, solar pool heating, two types of solar space heating and natural daylighting, both in the shop and in actual installations in Dexter, Garden City, Warren and elsewhere.

Customers are advised to bring their utility bills and see whether solar works for them, and talk to homeowners who actually use it right here in Michigan.
