3 Suspects Expected In Court In Hamtramck Murders

DETROIT (WWJ) - Three of the five men charged in connection with the kidnapping, torture and murder of two young Hamtramck women are scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.

The 26-year-old Brandon Cain, 24-year-old Miguel Rodriguez and 25-year-old Brian Lee face numerous charges -- including unlawful imprisonment, torture and premeditated murder. Two other suspects were arraigned this past weekend.

Police said the victims, close friends 22-year-old Ashley Conaway and 18-year-old Abreeya Brown, were forced into a car trunk at gunpoint on Feb. 28 after being abducted from their home on Andrus Street. Their bodies were found almost a month later in shallow graves in a wooded area near Six Mile and Telegraph in Detroit. The women had been bound and shot in the head.
