Feds Fear More Teens May Be Victim Of Sexual Extortion By Suspect
DETROIT (WWJ) - An Indiana man is accused of coercing 100 or more teenage boys -- including one in Oakland County -- into recording and sending him sexually explicit images.
Federal prosecutors say it could be the largest U-S case of online sexual extortion of children. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard says 39-year-old Richard Leon Finkbiner got in touch with a 14-year old Oakland County youngster on the web:
"He videotaped the young boy doing these things and then played it back, and said if you don't do the next thing I want you to do, I'll post this very embarrassing video," said Bouchard.
The youngster finally told his parents about the situation. The parents contacted police.
Bouchard says he tipped federal authorities into the Oakland County case, which mushroomed into the current national case.
Finkbiner was arrested Friday at his home.
