DPS Open Enrollment Period Ends Monday

DETROIT (WWJ) - Today is the last day for Detroit Public Schools' open enrollment period. Parents who would like their children to attend a school other than their neighborhood school for the 2012-13 school year must fill out an Open Enrollment form by today.

Parents will have an opportunity to see schools up close by hopping aboard the Open Enrollment Shuttle Van at three centralized locations, and prospective parents may eat breakfast for free with their children at any school.

The district's eight Parent Resource Centers will hold "I'm In Celebrations" that include healthy eating demonstrations, raffles and special activities, as well as food and refreshments from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
