Child Struck By Car On 14 Mile Road
CLINTON TWP. (WWJ) - A 4-year old girl is hospitalized after being hit by a car.
Clinton Township police captain Joe Mertes said the accident happened Sunday afternoon. As a family stood along 14 Mile Road between Gratiot and Beaconsfield, the girl broke free from her mother's grip.
"The young child kind of darted out away from the adult who was there and ran in front of the path of the vehicle and was struck," Mertes said.
The girl is expected to be OK. She was recovering Monday at Children's Hospital.
The driver, a Grosse Pointe woman, was questioned but not charged.
