U-M Finds The Money To Send Marching Band To "Cowboys Classic" In Texas

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -  It looks like there will be a road trip for the band after all.

After a storm of outrage, the University of Michigan has agreed to allow the school's marching band to travel to the Michigan football team's 2012 season opener in Texas.

Athletic director David Brandon had said the trip to the "Cowboys Classic" in Arlington would be too costly.

The school receives $4.7 million for the game, but Brandon said that was needed to fund sports.

Brandon says they've managed to reduce costs and get donor help for the trip.
