DETROIT (WWJ)  – Detroit Mayor Dave Bing made his first public appearance Sunday since he was hospitalized.

He and his wife Yvette served as honorary co-chairs of “Walk MS Detroit” to raise money to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

The Mayor providing opening remarks to those on hand saying that MS has touched his family.

“Thank everybody for coming out … this is the third year we’ve marched – that we’ve walked. As Yvette said, she had a twin sister that had left us several years ago because of MS,” said Bing.

Mrs. Bing says the mayor was a good patient but he is ready to get back to work.

Yvette Bing said that his progress continues and, “he is getting better everyday.”
