Canton Teen Missing Since March

CANTON (WWJ) - Canton police are asking for the public's help to find a missing teen.

Police say 15-year-old Bionca Lyons left her home in Canton on March 24 after an argument with a family member.

A resident in the area of Schaefer and Joy Roads in Detroit spoke with Bionca on March 25, but she has not been seen or heard from since. It is believed she may still be in the area.

Why wait until now to ask for the public's help?

"This isn't the first time she's done this. She's done this in the past, multiple times," said Canton Police Sgt. Craig Wilsher. "At this point in time we've run out of leads. We're just looking for some extra help to find her, locate her."

"They don't feel she's in danger. They just feel that she does not want to come home at this point in time," he added.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Canton Police Department at 734-394-5400. You can also send an anonymous tip via email to tipline@cantonmi.org.
