Program Looks To Create More Grocery Options In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Creating more grocery store owners in the city of Detroit; that's the goal of the Detroit Grocery Leadership Fellowship. The intensive four-month training program is designed to teach people with grocery management experience how to own and operate stores.
Margaret Garry is Director of Detroit Grocery Incubator. She talked to WWJ Newsradio 950 about the importance of having more grocery store options in Detroit.
"Statistics show that per capital Detroit has less than half the grocery stores than surrounding areas and we are spending close to $200 million outside of our neighborhoods," said Garry.
