Avalon Technologies Powers Detroit Tigers Newly Refreshed In-House Data Center

BLOOMFIELD HILLS -- Avalon Technologies, an IT consulting and implementation services company, announced the successful launch of the refreshed data center and hardware consolidation at Comerica Park for the Detroit Tigers.

With the upgrades, the sports franchise can use advanced technologies to power the Tigers' new high-tech scoreboard and increase storage of high-definition game videos.

The Tiger data center project is the second successful in-house data center upgrade project for an organization owned by Ilitch Holdings Inc. Avalon Technologies also provided consultation and services to upgrade data center technologies for the Detroit Red Wings, making the two team systems compatible in leveraging resources and disaster recovery.

During the six month project, Avalon Technologies designed and installed an in-house data center that gives the Tiger's IT department more speed and responsiveness for scores, game statistics and play-by-play video presentations. The data center now has better post game editing capabilities and more capacity for long-term storage of high definition videos.

"We took the time to understand the Tiger's unique IT requirements and customized the end-to-end in-house solutions to fit their needs," said CTO Nassir Jamal of Avalon Technologies. "In our data center designs, we paid particular attention to what they need for their future growth."

"Avalon Technologies is another one of Michigan's strong high-tech companies that delivers smart solutions, especially on our home turf in Metro Detroit. We take pride in our ability to help large Michigan-based organizations, like the Tigers, make smart investments, save money and increase efficiencies to run their business," says CEO Brian Flynn of Avalon Technologies.
