Police Seek Man Who Kissed Child At Local Park

STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Sterling Heights police are investigating after an unknown young man kissed a third grade girl on a playground.

Investigators said it happened Tuesday afternoon as the girl was playing with classmates at Farmstead Park, on Clinton River Road near M-53.

A teacher told police the young man walked up to the child and, before the teacher could intervene, bent down and kissed her.

The teacher yelled at the man who took off on a bicycle.

Police said the man had earlier tossed a basketball back to the students, but no other contact was reported.

The suspect is described as an 18 to 20-year-old white male; 6'- 6'2 tall, 180 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.  He was wearing a tan shirt, khaki shorts, with a small black backpack.

He was riding a dark-colored 10-speed bicycle.
