First Dodge Darts Roll Out To Showrooms
DETROIT - It's been a long, hard road for Detroit's Big Three to get back on track, so maybe it's time for a little celebration.
Chrysler is doing just that by rolling out its highly anticipated 2013 Dodge Dart in a kind of Motor City pride parade from the Palace of Auburn Hills to Dodge showrooms across the state.
The Dodge Dart parade began at 12:30 p.m. and lasted about 15 minutes.
Auto pundits have been closely watching the progress of the Dart, which leverages the DNA of Alfa Romeo and infuses it with Dodge design. It's billed as an "agile, fun-to-drive compact car with mid-size levels of interior roominess and unmatched style, technology, safety and customization."
Best yet? The Dodge Dart price tag starts at just $15,995.
With timing that couldn't be more perfect for the once-beleaguered automaker, Kelley Blue Book announced Wednesday the 2013 Dodge Dart ranked No. 1 for "Coolest New Cars Under $18,000."
Vehicles chosen for the list were judged on two criteria -- fun to drive and fun to own.
"The Dodge Dart's enticing combination of style, performance, features and value have earned it the top spot in our 2012 coolest cars list," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. "With exceptional interior space and loads of personalization potential, the all-new Dart will definitely make its presence felt in the ultra-competitive compact sedan segment."
