Grand Jury Returns Indictment Against Robert Davis

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Grand Jury has returned a new indictment against former Highland Park School Board member Robert Davis, accusing him of filing false tax returns.

The indictment alleges that Davis ripped off the District to the tune of $125,000 by setting up a phony charity.

Through the charity, the federal government claims, Davis spent thousands at a host of stores, and on satellite TV, travel and utility bills.

His attorney claims Davis didn't pay taxes on the money, because the purchases were for the school district.
