Man Charged After Boating Collision, Family Pet Dies In Accident

LAKE ST. CLAIR (WWJ) - A boating collision on Lake St. Clair ends in a pet losing its life and its' owners injured.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says it happened Saturday evening two miles east of Beacon's Cove Marina in Harrison Township.

Marine division deputies responded to a "May Day " call for help. Upon arrival they discovered one boat had run over an anchored vessel, severely injuring a 47-year old man, his wife,  and killing the family dog.

Deputies arrested the suspect driver 34-year old Kevin Scott Bushon from Shelby Township.

He is being charged with operating while intoxicated causing serious Injury and is being held on a $5,000 bond.

The incident remains under investigation.
