Free Women's Health Screening Saturday

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Providence Hospital in Southfield is looking for more women to participate in a free health screening July 14.

Rochelle Igrisan says the health screening event is directed at women aged 40-to-64 who are Michigan residents, uninsured, have been denied Medicaid and meet certain income guidelines.

"We plan to do a complete medical exam ...  including a pap smear and mammography and blood work -- for free," Igrisan told WWJ Newsradio 950's Pat Sweeting.

Women 40-to-64 are the focus of this event, Igrisan said, because they are more prone to breast, uterine and cervical cancers and various other diseases.

Women interested in taking part in the event should call 1-866-501-3627.
