Shoppers, Vendors Pack Ann Arbor Art Fair

The event brings artists and spectators from across the country to downtown Ann Arbor annually to view and purchase art from several

fairs, including the Street Art Fair, the Summer Art Fair and the State Street Art Fair.

Philadelphia resident Armond Scavo, who creates art with ornamental stones typically used for jewelry, sold some of his work at the fair.

They're surfaces of Jasper stone that I interpret as landscape," Scavo told WWJ Newsradio 950's Pat Sweeting. "Jewelers use them for pins or pendants. Most of them are cameo size and they're used for decorative jewelry."

Jean, a resident of Orlando, Florida, said she has been commuting to the fair for the past 40 years. "I found some artwork and things for my children; my grandchildren, so I'm havin' a good time," she said.

The fair will continue for the rest of the week, ending  at 6 p.m. Saturday. Visit this link for complete art fair information.
