2 Teens Critical, 3 Stable After Crash In Lake Orion
LAKE ORION (WWJ) - Two Oakland County teenagers are in critical condition and three others are recovering after an accident near Lake Orion Monday afternoon.
The Sheriff's Department said a 16-year-old from Lake Orion was driving a car with four other teens and ran a stop sign at Adams and Clarkston roads around 4:06 p.m. Police said the girl's car was hit on the driver's side by Dodge Nitro driven by a 51-year-old Oakland Township resident, who was traveling northbound on Adams Road.
The teenage driver was airlifted to Royal Oak Beaumont where she was last listed in critical condition. A 15-year-old passenger from Lake Orion was transferred to Royal Oak Beaumont where he is also listed in critical condition.
A 17-year-old and two 14-year-olds, all of Lake Orion, are in stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle and a 1-year-old child who was with her were not hurt.
It's unclear if the teens were wearing seatbelts. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
