Jahvid Best was thought to be the Lions starting RB once again this season if only he could get cleared to play. Right now it doesn’t look like that will happen. Adam Schefter from ESPN has tweeted this afternoon that “Lions RB Jahvid Best is likely to start this season on physically unable to perform list, which would sideline him at least first six games.”

This would be bad news for the Lions going into the season knowing that Mikel Leshoure will also miss the first two game due to a league suspension from arrests this off-season. Last season Best rushed for 390 yards on 84 carries in only 6 games. Best has been battling a concussion he suffered last season.
