Motorcyclist Killed, Another Injured In Crash With Car

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police say a motorcyclist was killed and another was injured when they collided with a car on the city's north side Wednesday night.

Investigators say a  39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were riding their motorcycles east on E. State Fair around 8:40 p.m. when the crash happened.

According to police, a car traveling west on E. State Fair turned to drive onto the southbound Chrysler Service Drive right in front of the motorcyclists, who both collided into the vehicle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. She was last listed in temporary-serious condition.

Police arrested the driver of the car, a 33-year-old woman, who remained at the scene.

It is unclear whether alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.

The case is being handled by the Detroit Police Department's Fatal Squad. An investigation is ongoing.
