2 Men Injured When Wrong-Way Pick-up Crashes

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WWJ) - Two people are recovering from serious injuries after their pickup truck crashed on Lapeer Road not far from the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Police tell WWJ Newsradio 950 it's a wonder there were no other injuries or worse, as a result of this crash, which occurred over an extended area between Opdyke and Bald Mountain roads around 2 a.m. Monday morning.

According to police, the pickup truck was traveling the wrong direction on the southbound lanes of Lapeer Road. There were no other cars in the lanes, but the truck struck several objects along the roadway before the pickup went into a ditch.

Both men were taken to a local hospital with what were described as serious injuries. Alcohol said to be a factor in the crash.
