Man Arrested After Taking Toddler On High-Speed Chase

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A toddler was taken along on a high-speed chase Monday morning.

A Pontiac woman told police that her 29-year old boyfriend had stolen her car around  6 a.m. with the 3-year-old boy still in the back seat.  As police gave chase, the suspect made it to Southfield before he was stopped near Northwestern Highway and Lahser.

No one was hurt. Two sheriff's vehicles suffered minor damage.

The man was jailed, while the boy was returned to his mother.

No names have been released.
