Nominations Open For Startup Soup
DETROIT-- Want to pitch your social business venture for a chance to win funds plus business training from TechTown? Apply to pitch at Startup Soup on Friday, Nov. 9.
Nominations close Sunday, Oct. 14.
Each entrepreneur, hand picked by a panel of expert judges, will have five minutes to present their business and field questions from the crowd. Attendees then enjoy soup, discuss the businesses and vote for their favorite.
The winner receives the door kitty from each attendee's $5 admission at the door, and five workshop vouchers from TechTown. Finalists get two workshop vouchers from TechTown.
The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Gleaners Community Food Bank, 2131 Beaufait St., Detroit.
Startup Soup provides an entrepreneurial twist on the established, highly popular crowd-funding model. To host the event, TechTown has partnered with Detroit Soup, a micro-granting dinner that funds creative projects in Detroit.
