Former Lotto Winner Amanda Clayton Found Dead

ECORSE (WWJ) - It was a tragic end for former million dollar game show winner and mother of two as friends discover her dead in a home in Ecorse.

Police confirm that 25-year-old Amanda Clayton was found dead early Saturday morning at a home on Sunnyside street,  possibly from an overdose of prescription drugs.

In September of 2011, Clayton won a $1 million jackpot in the "Make Me Rich!" game show sponsored by the Michigan Lottery.

The Lincoln Park mom continued to receive food stamps after winning the $1 million lottery prize and was charged with two felony counts of welfare fraud after failing to report her winnings to the state.

Clayton was sentenced to probation in July.

Police are waiting for an autopsy report from the medical examiner to verify the cause of death.
