With last Sunday being a bye week for the Lions and the team playing away this week, tailgating has been put on hold. But this does not mean you can't head to some of the best sports bars and restaurants around this Sunday to watch the game. With this in mind, the job of a journalist is to find the information needed to keep the public informed. So in this effort, the following establishments are journalist approved with each and every one having been inspected to meet the high standards of having the best food, drink and big-screen TVs to watch the game.

Rosie O'Grady's
279 W. Nine Mile Road
Ferndale, MI 48220
(248) 591-9163
www.rosieogradysirishpub.com

When you go to a restaurant website and there is a link directly to the Lions season schedule, you know this spot is into Detroit sports. Located just west of Woodward Avenue on Nine Mile Road, Rosie O'Grady's offers great food, a huge selection of beer and large-screen TVs everywhere you look. This is not your normal sports bar where the kids will be bored. It is a true family establishment that caters to everyone. Service is always friendly and it is a great place to relax just about any time. On game days, it can be busy and there will be the sounds of cheering fans echoing throughout the building. So if you don't like having fun, a lot of excitement and great food, then stay home. Otherwise, O'Grady's is the place to go in Ferndale.

Cheli's Chili Bar
21918 Michigan Ave.
Dearborn, MI 48124
(313) 274-9700
www.chelischilibar.com

On any given day that a sport team is playing, you will hear cheering coming from Cheli's Chili Bar located on Michigan Avenue in downtown West Dearborn. Owned by Chris Chelios, the former defenseman of the Detroit Red Wings, this place understands sports and the fans. While you enjoy your meal, it will be time to sit back and watch the game on a giant projection screen or on one of the nearly 30 other flat screens spread out about the establishment. Cheli's is the kind of place where you can meet friends any day of the week for a snack or a drink and on the weekends, you will be surrounded by Lions fans cheering on the team. That is unless the Red Wings are playing, then it's time for hockey.

Doc's Sports Retreat
19265 Victor Parkway
Livonia, MI 48152
(734) 542-8162
www.docssportretreat.com

When you head to Livonia, there seems to be every sort of eatery you can imagine, but one of the best-kept secrets in the city is Doc's. This is a sports bar that offers up just about any sport you can think of and on Sundays, it is football and that means the Lions. With 100 flat-screen TVs and every sports television package you can think of, this Sunday you will be able to watch the NFL or some obscure Bulgarian sport that no one really cares about. When it comes to food, there is a menu that offers everything from calzones to New York strip steaks and to quench your thirst there are over 30 beers on tap.

Buffalo Wild Wings
Various locations around Detroit
www.buffalowildwings.com

Sure it's a chain restaurant that has a zillion locations, but it also has pretty good wings, a good selection of beverages and television screens all around. The great thing about Buffalo Wild Wings is it is truly a family place where you can take everyone, regardless of their age. There is a great selection of beers, wines and soft drinks and you can have your wings with or without bones. If you are looking for a place to take the kids so they can cover themselves in barbecue sauce while you watch the game, then consider one of the Wild Wing locations around Detroit. Oh, and let the kids go to the website homepage. It will keep them entertained for a long time and drive the adults crazy with all the sounds.
