Wixom Police Search For Driver Who Fired Shots Out Car Window

WIXOM (WWJ) - Wixom police are searching for the driver of a sports car who was reportedly firing shots at people out the car window.

Police say they received the first "shots fired" call around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday from a man who said he heard a bullet fly by his head as he was taking out the garbage near Wixom Road and Loon Lake Road. A second person called and told police his car tire was shot out as he drove past the sports car on Wixom Road.

Police say it appears the gunman was shooting a pistol out the driver's side window. No injuries were reported.

Police believe the gunman was driving a dark sports car with after-market blue-tinted headlamp covers. One witness described the suspect's vehicle as a Ford Mustang based on the style and pattern of the turn signals.

A description of the gunman was not released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wixom Police Department at 248-624-6114 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
