Michigan Matters: Stabenow & Hoekstra
Sen. Debbie Stabenow and former Congressman Pete Hoekstra, who is trying to stop her in her third bid for U.S. Senate, have been doing a lot of talking on the campaign trail as they criss-cross the state.
But they won't be debating.
That's because the two camps have been unable to work out terms with the finger pointing continuing after Stabenow said she was ending the conversation about debates.
Stabenow offered her reasons to host Carol Cain on CBS 62's "Michigan Matters" as did Hoekstra, who also appeared on the show.
Since 1996, U.S. Senate candidates have participated in debates held at the Detroit Economic Club and Grand Valley State University.
Beyond the debateless contest, the two candidates weighed in on Medicare, adding jobs, the presidential race and how they will spend the final days of this heated election which wraps up Nov. 6.
Watch "Michigan Matters" at 11:30 am Sunday on CBS 62. It will be repeated 2:30 p.m Sunday as well on CBS 62.
