U Of Detroit AD And Assistant Hoops Coach Resign

DETROIT (AP) — University of Detroit athletic director Keri Gaither and assistant basketball coach Derek Thomas have resigned.

Both left their jobs on Wednesday.

Gaither had been the school's AD since 2007 and worked within the department for nearly 25 years. Associate AD for external affairs Jason Horn was promoted to replace her on an interim basis.

Titans coach Ray McCallum hired Thomas as an assistant and recruiting coordinator in 2008 after Thomas was the head coach at Western Illinois.
