Student's 'Threatening' Tweet Under Investigation

DEXTER (WWJ) - A Dexter High School sophomore is out of school and under investigation after posting a suspicious statement on Twitter.

Washtenaw County detectives say a parent, on their child's phone, saw the tweet that allegedly included some "inappropriate and threatening" comments about the school.

Officials said the threats were not directed toward anyone specific and, "there was no indication that the students at Dexter High School were in any danger."

Just in case, the student won't be allowed back to school until the criminal investigation wraps up.

No names have been released.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office Confidential Tip line at 734-973-7711 or 1-800-SPEAK UP.
