'United States Of Bacon' Filming In Berkley
BERKLEY (WWJ) - They're celebrating bacon in Berkley.
The new cable TV series "United States of Bacon" on Wednesday filmed the lunch and dinner rush crowds at the Vinsetta Garage in Berkley along with the dishes that feature the popular pork.
So what is it about bacon?
WWJ Newsradio 950's Sandra McNeil spoke with the Woodward Ave. restaurant's co-owner, Curt Catallo.
"We look at bacon and it's such a simple ingredient but it can change so many dishes," Catallo said. "You know, we all know the flavor of bacon and it's just fun to see how it plays with other components.
"I think that's why you're seeing it in like ice creams and chocolates and menus using it more often -- it's kind of the perfect food," he said.
The show will air on the Destination America channel in March.
