Data Security – Lessons Learned from the Galactic Empire
ROYAL OAK -- Kellman Meghu, head of security for Check Point Technologies, Ltd., the worldwide leader in internet security, will critique the Lucasfilm epic "Star Wars" from the perspective of a security audit.
Meghu's presentation, "How Not to Do Security," is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Nov. 26, in the Jones Johnson Theater on Oakland Community College's Royal Oak Campus. Admission is free and the public is invited.
The Galactic Empire suffered catastrophic business impact as a result of data loss. This was turned against the Empire and eventually destroyed critical infrastructure.
In his humorous and informative lecture, Meghu will review the Empire's security practices, investigate what they did well, and determine what can be learned from the mistakes made. He will also demonstrate how the most basic security policy could have saved business, employee lives and billions of dollars for the Empire.
The Royal Oak Campus is located at 739 S. Washington St., on the corner of Lincoln. Free parking is available in college parking structures across from the campus.
