SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) – It’s bit more dreary and cloudy (droudy?) in Metro Detroit on Friday, as legendary weathercaster and media personality Sonny Eliot has passed away at age 91.

Refusing to adhere to cloying conventions such standard terminology and time parameters — and often making up his own words —  Sonny debuted his wacky weather report on WWJ Newsradio 950 in 1950.  He continued making us smile, well into the new millennium.
