A new resident on the same block of Tacome, identifying himself only as Jerome, said the neighborhood is no different from anywhere else in Detroit.
“It’s just a sign of the times, I believe. I mean, the way the city is now … to me it’s just the way society is anyway,” he told WWJ Newsradio 950’s Ron Dewey. “There’s a lot of drugs out here; the economy is bad; there aren’t many jobs … I guess people do what they do to survive.”
The woman who discovered the bodies said there was an apparent drug raid at the house earlier in the day. Police are not confirming that, but did say the killings may have been drug-related.MORE NEWS: CBS Mornings' Gayle King Visits Detroit, Motown Museum
