Former MSU Star Leads Redskins To Victory

LANDOVER, Maryland (WWJ) - Former Michigan State Spartan QB Kirk Cousins led the Washington Redskins to a 31-28 overtime victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

The rookie quarterback saw only his second action of the season when he replaced the injured Robert Griffin III late in the 4th quarter.

The Redskins trailed by eight at the time. He promptly rallied the skins with an 11- yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon with just 29 seconds remaining in regulation. He then executed a quarterback draw for a successful two point conversion, before leading them to a winning field goal in overtime.

Cousins was a top Spartan quarterback as his former team finished first in their division last year in the Big 10 only to lose the championship game against Wisconsin.
