Police: Alcohol May Have Played Role In Deadly I-75 Accident

DETROIT (WWJ) - A deadly car accident in Detroit overnight killed one man and injured two other people.

Authorities say alcohol likely played a role in the crash that killed a 25-year-old man from Sterling Heights.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, when the man lost control of his Honda on I-75 near McNichols-- and hit the median wall.

Shortly after, a 35-year-old man driving an SUV slammed into the disabled vehicle. The 25-year-old had two passengers in his car, they suffered non-life threatening injuries. It doesn't appear the driver of the SUV was hurt.

The crash shut down the freeway for about three hours.
