Pedestrian Critically Hurt On I-94 In Macomb County

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A Detroit man is hospitalized in stable condition, after he was hit while walking along I-94 near Little Mack in Roseville.

Police said the 33-year-old he suffered critical injuries in Tuesday morning's crash. Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw said the man was initially thought to be dead, but he was revived at a hospital.

"You don't realize how fast the traffic is going on those freeways until you're actually standing out there," Shaw said. "The possible way for you to get across there safely, especially at night, is very difficult."

Police aren't sure if or when they'll be able to talk to the man to find out why he was walking along the freeway.

There were no other injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. State troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the accident and were not interviewed at the scene contact the MSP Metro Post at (248) 584-5740.

Westbound I-94 was closed at Harper for the accident investigation but has since re-opened..
