Warren (WWJ)-  A Michigan State Police trooper making a drunk driving arrest was injured early Tuesday morning when his patrol car was hit. 

State Police Lt. Mike Shaw says the accident happened on eastbound I-696 near Hoover around 8 a.m. when a mini-van smashed into the back end of the trooper’s car.

The trooper was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.  The driver who was stopped for driving drunk is also at the hospital with unknown injuries.
