AutoGlow 2013 To Support Children's Center Charity

DETROIT (WWJ) - When the North American International Auto Show rolls into town later this month it will help raise some much-needed money for local charities.

AutoGlow 2013 -- presented by Ford -- takes place on the opening night of charity previews for the auto show, with proceeds to benefit the Children's Center in Detroit.

"We want to provide the best for our families, for the children  who need. So we need these types of events and this will raise more than $600,00 for us on this evening," said Debora Matthews, President and CEO of Children's Center. "This is the 22nd year for this wonderful black tie event."

Hosted by Lisa and Bill Ford and Nicki and Alan Mulally, the elegant affair will be held on Jan. 18 at Ford Field and will feature complimentary valet parking, a pre-event reception, world-class cuisine, live entertainment and private shuttle service.

"We shuttle them to Cobo for the actual Charity Preview event, and then following the Charity preview back to Ford Field for the party, and then to the Book Cadillac for the evening if they want to spend the evening at the hotel," Matthews said.
