Police Respond To Report Of Flames At Bath City Bistro

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) Emergency personnel responded Monday morning to reports that smoke and flames were pouring from the roof of Bath City Bistro in downtown Mount Clemens.

The owner told WWJ she walked up to the restaurant and heard a "boom," and saw one of the ventilation hoods in the kitchen had some smoke and flames pouring out.

The restaurant owner said the fire was not ongoing; a kitchen manager and fire officials are looking into it.

Bath City Bistro is one of the east side's most iconic restaurants, with regular patrons including Kid Rock. The multi-story space is known for feather bowling, a Belgian sport considered a cross between boccie board and shuffleboard.

Bath City Bistro is in a historic building in Mount Clemens, which was known historically for its salt baths and spas.
