2 Killed In I-94 Rollover Crash

ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - State police believe alcohol was a factor in an overnight crash on I-94 that killed two people.

Investigators said a vehicle was traveling though Allen Park on the eastbound side of the freeway near Oakwood Ave. when the driver lost control, just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said that's when the vehicle crossed the center median, rolled over and came to rest in the westbound lanes of I 94. Seven people were inside and several of them were thrown from the vehicle.

Police said those ejected, including the two people who died, were not wearing seatbelts.  Several others were injured.

No names have been released.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Michigan State Police Metro Post at 248-584-5740.
