Suspect Sought In Attacks On Women Outside Their Homes

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Police in Farmington Hills and Northville are on the hunt for the man responsible for brutally attacking two women.

Northville police said the first incident happened at around 11 a.m. Wednesday in front of a home on Lake Street.

Police said a man approached a 69-year-old woman in her driveway. He asked her if she wanted to take a survey and then attacked. The woman is now hospitalized, listed on Thursday in stable condition with a broken jaw and head injury.

Farmington Hills police said that Wednesday night, at around 11 p.m., a man fitting the same description attacked a 42-year-old woman at the Village Green Condominiums at 8 Mile Road and Grand River.

WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with Farmington Hills Police Chief Chuck Nebus, who described what happened.

"She was making trips back and forth to her car, and during one of those trips she was hit on the head with some kind of stick or club and the suspect fled, probably ... due to the commotion," Nebus said. "We were receiving 911 calls."

Nebus said the woman was taken to a local hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 35 years old. He is about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and was wearing a beige jacket and blue jeans. He fled the scene in a light brown late-90s model Ford Taurus four-door sedan.

The victim's names have not been released.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact the Farmington Hills Police Department Command Desk at 248-871-2610.
