TigerFest Gives Fans A Dose Of Spring Fever

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's not spring training yet, but it was the next best thing as TigerFest took place at Comerica Park Saturday. It was a chance for fans to get up close to some of their favorite Tiger's players for pictures and autographs.

Thousands of fans like Scott Allport of Windsor got a chance to see Alex Avila, Austin Jackson and Danny Worth.

"It's a great time, I mean, it's a great pump-up for the season to show the fans ... that the team absolutely cares for the fans and city," said Allport.

Dan Lloyd of Amherstberg was in line for autographs at Tiger-Fest: "We just saw Rick Porcello and one of the new players, Kyle Lobstein and before that it was Miguel Cabrera."

Lloyd said Cabrera didn't have the Triple Crown trophy with him but definitely looked ready for the new season.

Allport and a lot of other fans feel the Tiger's will win the World Series this year. TigerFest had a lot of fun activities like touring the clubhouse and there was a kid zone for the youngest fans.
