FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) – Authorities say a 46-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a SUV after leaving a bar in Monroe County.

Investigators say Walz had left the Gravel Pit Pub & Grub and was attempting to walk across Telegraph Road to his residence in the Kimberly Estates Mobile Home Park when he was struck by an SUV, driven by a 63-year-old Monroe man. Police say alcohol appears to be a factor for Walz, but not for the man who hit him.
