Fine Art Show In Royal Oak Comes With Upscale Preview Party

ROYAL OAK (CBS Detroit) - Royal Oak is doing it again. The city's second annual Fine Art Show will be set in Royal Oak's historic Farmers Market, attracting artists from around Michigan and northern Ohio.

Organizers said this art show offers a unique blend of fine art and fine crafts made by various artists. Art work will be for sale in many categories including drawing, painting, photography, clay, glass, mixed media, and more.

Also, there's a treat Friday evening for everyone in attendance. During the Friday Preview Party, artists and guests will be entertained by Cello-Bella! who is a group of local musicians, experience a pleasing light fare from Royal Oak downtown restaurants, and be able to participate in a silent auction with items donated by the artists. A portion of proceeds for this auction will go to help benefit local charities.

The art show will be held from 2-8 p.m. Friday, March 1, with the preview party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There is also some good news for the artists -- The show will be held indoors thus giving the them a head start on their summer art fair season.

Royal Oak Farmers Market is located at 316 East 11 Mile Road, Royal Oak, MI at the corner of 11 Mile Rd and Troy Street in downtown Royal Oak. The market is 1 ½ miles west of I-75, 1 mile north of the I-696 and about 1 ½ miles east of Woodward Ave.

The art show is sponsored by the Royal Oak Artist Market and City of Royal Oak Farmers Market. The Royal Oak Artist Market Show & Sale provides an excellent opportunity for you to buy an original item for your home, office, or as a gift. Food concessions will be on site for lunch and dinner but no animals are allowed in the Artist Market Show.

A portion of the proceeds from the show will help support Camp Casey (children with cancer) and the Royal Oak Arts Council.
