Sunset Deadline For Fishing Shanties To Go

LANSING (WWJ) - Deadlines are approaching for anglers to remove shanties from ice-covered waters. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says structures on Lake St. Clair must go by sunset on Sunday.

Owners whose shanties fall through the ice could get up to 30 days in jail and be fined up to $500.

Starting Monday on the lake, ice shanties may still be used but must be removed daily.
