Claiming Republicans Have Shut Out The People, House Dems Go On "Listening Tour"

DETROIT (WWJ) -  With claims that the voice of the people have not been  heard - several House Democrats are making the rounds to be sure voters have an opportunity to air their concerns.

State Representative Thomas Stallworth (D-Detroit) is hosting an event - billed as a Listening  Tour to hear the concerns of local citizens.

The stated goal of the tour is to get into their districts to hear how Republican policies such as tax increases and education funding cuts have hurt average, hard-working Michiganders, and take those priorities back to the state Capitol.

This will take place on Monday at the Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit at 6 p.m.

Others planning on attending are House Democratic Leader Tim Greimel (D-Auburn Hills) and Reps. Brian Banks (D-Detroit), Phil Cavanagh (D-Detroit), Fred Durhal Jr. (D-Detroit), David Nathan (D-Detroit), Rose Mary Robinson (D-Detroit), Alberta Tinsley-Talabi (D-Detroit) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Detroit) will also participate.
