New Changepoint Software From Compuware

DETROIT -- Compuware Corp. Tuesday announced the latest release of its market-leading professional services automation and project portfolio management software, Changepoint. This edition of Compuware Changepoint delivers the next generation of business analytics, enhanced mobility and usability improvements in core areas.

"Today's release of Changepoint delivers on our roadmap with significant enhancements demanded by large, globally dispersed services and IT organizations," said Lori Ellsworth, senior vice president and general manager of the Compuware Changepoint business unit. "Through a combination of key partnerships and product advancements, we are providing our worldwide audience of customers with a solution that offers industry-leading business intelligence and is responding to the needs of the mobile business workplace."

To enable services and IT organizations to gain advantage from the wealth of data they collect, Changepoint now delivers advanced business analytics from a leading third party vendor seamlessly in its software. Enhanced business analytics provide increased transparency and visibility into the large volumes of data generated by services and IT organizations, enabling executives to more easily generate metrics and monitor the key performance indicators vital for sustained business growth.

This offering, fully integrated within Changepoint provides: enhanced reporting usability and flexibility; active offline reporting; Microsoft plug-in support; an evolving library of reports and dashboards to accelerate time to value; and respect for Changepoint's robust security model, and extensible data model.

"Big Data -- the enormous volumes of data being generated within companies and how companies can leverage it for business intelligence -- is forcing organizations to invest in analytics, but standalone platforms are complex and hard to integrate," said John Ragsdale, vice president of technology research at the Technology Services Industry Association. "Compuware Changepoint's decision to embed business analytics into its solution will allow services organizations to better interpret business information, enabling improved execution of services strategy -- without a data scientist. Over half of TSIA members have budget for analytic tools in 2012-2013, and end user-focused controls are a key requirement."

Today's business users are increasingly mobile -- working from anywhere in the world on a device of their choosing, and they have a growing reliance on these mobile devices to perform business tasks. With the increased adoption of tablets in the business world, busy executives now have critical business information at their fingertips. Smartphones and tablets also help services team members working on customer sites to stay connected to the business and manage daily tasks. Building on its mobility strategy, the latest edition of Changepoint now offers:
