Wake Up To Breakfast At The Whitney In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Something new being served up at a popular Detroit restaurant.
Beginning Monday you can power breakfast or leisurely read the newspaper in the morning at the Whitney Restaurant in Detroit.
Whitney owner Bud Liebler :"We think it's time with all that's going on in Midtown and downtown Detroit - all the good things - despite the emergency manager, there are so many good things happening here - we just ... wanted to get involved and take advantage of all the growth and excitement."
Liebler tells WWJ's Vicki Thomas that although the breakfast menu is fantastic - he had nothing to do with it.
"I did not do the menu and you'll be grateful for that - our chef did it," he laughed. Our general manager had over a period of weeks - it was trying out different foods and testing them and all that," said Liebler.
Whitney Executive Chef Jason Gardner's menu will include tableside omelettes, French toast, signature breakfast items and a Continental breakfast.
Breakfast will run 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Friday starting March 25. The Whitney is continuing its Sunday brunch, and occasional Saturday brunch.
