4 Hurt, Including Kids, In Train-Car Collision

LITTLE LAKE (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say four people were taken to a hospital after a driver failed to stop at a railroad crossing and collided with a train in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

WLUC-TV said the crash was reported early Thursday evening in the Marquette County community of Little Lake. Witnesses at the scene said the car drove into a large puddle before continuing onto the tracks, pulling in front of the train.

The car was crush (photo here), but the train did not derail.

Four people were in the vehicle, including two children were taken to Marquette General Hospital tor treatment.

One of the children remained hospitalized in fair condition in an intensive care unit on Friday.

The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

No names have been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
