Home Where Jane Bashara Likely Murdered Goes Up For Sale

GROSSE POINTE PARK (WWJ) - For sale: Palatial Grosse Pointe Park home, loaded with amenities for a reasonable price. There's just one potential drawback -- it's linked to a notorious murder.

The 2,800 square-foot home on Middlesex has five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, two half-baths, a remodeled kitchen, finished basement and wine cellar. It's on the market for $415,000.

Oh, and it's the former home of Bob and Jane Bashara. The seemingly happy couple shared the home with their two college-age children until Jane Bashara's headline-making strangulation death in January, 2012.

Investigators believe Jane Bashara was killed in the house before her body was dumped in her SUV, which was found parked in a Detroit alley the day after her death.

Joseph Gentz is serving 17 to 28 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the case, sticking to his story all the while that he was paid by Bob Bashara to kill his wife.

Bob Bashara, who early on was named a person of interest in his wife's death, has maintained he had nothing to do with her murder. He is, however, serving 80 months to 20 years in prison after admitting last October that he tried to hire someone to kill Gentz.
